Shopping Wisely With Online Coupons

Stop! Before you go shopping online please follow these tips.

1. Research the product.

Find the name and if possible the product item number you need to buy. Research and find opinions from other consumers about the product. I like going to Amazon.com, not necessarily to purchase the item, but mainly to get unbiased reviews on many products from across the web.

2. Price compare.

There are many price comparison sites, my favorites are mysimon and bizrate. They will help you find the prices across the web for many different retailers. Make sure you take into account the total price, meaning shipping and taxes included. As of the time this article is written, you DO NOT have to pay taxes for retailers that don’t have a local presence in your state. This means you could be saving a lot more from a merchant that carries the same item but is out of state as compared to one that is located in your state.

3. Coupons, coupons, and more coupons.

I say this three time because people always forget to search for online coupons before they buy. Find coupon codes (also known as promotional codes) from the web and you can save even more. I recently saved 15% on my taxes because I had some online coupon codes. My favorite place to go for coupons is couponloco.com, which has a broad selection of coupons throughout the web and is updated daily. Sometimes retailers have coupons that can be “stacked” so you can apply more than one coupon code to get even bigger discounts. If you apply a promotional code and it does not work, try another one! Sometimes coupon codes expire and you may have not applied the most recent one.

Don’t give up in your quest for savings. If you are an avid shopper you could be saving thousands of bucks by following my advice above.
